About Us

Cook & Turnbull Ltd was established in 1971 by Alfred Cook and Thomas Turnbull. After two years of business, Alf & Tommy increased the labour to five persons gaining contracts such as Glaxo, MSD, Alcan, Gas board and NEEB. Also aquiring Midland banks on the way.

As time passed by the labour force fluctuated up to 46 staff at one point, but never lower than 10. Contracts flourished as well as reputation which is very strong still to this day.

In 2000 Cook & Turnbull won a prestigious award of “Painter of the Year” by Johnstones for the work carried out on the Old Post Office, Newcastle.

In Feb 2005 Marc Jobson, Sean Dodds and Paul Donaldson bought out the Partnership and made the company Limited.

The vision of the new directory is to expand on the great work already achieved and take the company onto a new level. We now cover the whole of the UK with our many skills and regard ourselves as one of the best painting contractors in the UK.
